FOR

INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR  -

CONSTITUTIONAL AREA 1

PAST DISTRICT GOVERNOR SD46 NEVADA -

Ready to become part of the Lions International Board of Directors leadership team. Over a decade of service in Lions International and 26 years of public service built the drive for results, accountability and team building to reach our goals.

THE CALL FOR SERVICE

CREATING AN ETHICS BASED ASSOCIATION FOR A MODERN WORLD

TIME TO MEET THE ADAM THAT MATTERS

A retired Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Captain with 25.5 years of dedicated service to the community, Adam Hopkins started his career at the High Sierra Law Enforcement Academy in 1990.  As a Deputy Sheriff, he worked in the correctional setting before transitioning to a Patrol position.  There, Adam served his community as a Patrol Deputy handling calls for service, as a D.A.R.E. Officer, as a G.R.E.A.T. Officer, Community Liaison Officer as well as promoting to Sergeant.  Adam was willing to sacrifice his life in the service of others.  He handled some of the most difficult, highly complex, high risk situations where planning, judgment and execution were paramount.

Adam was ultimately responsible for the entire detention center with approximately 300 sworn deputies and 250 civilians. He is a graduate of SMIP (Senior Management Institute for Police – University of Boston) and the the National Jail Leadership Command Academy in Huntsville Tx.

Prior to his Law Enforcement Career, Adam attended and graduated from New Mexico State University in 1987 with a BS in Education and a minor in Speech. Adam served a short time in the US Air Force as a Second Lieutenant before moving to the Reno Nevada community.

In 2012, Adam started a training company, “LUMICORE TRAINING”, where he was the lead instructor.  Adam trained  Law Enforcement related topics to Law Enforcement and related fields across the country for over a decade. He has also been the Keynote speaker at the Tennessee Corrections Institute.  In 2014, Adam became a DOJ Certified Auditor of Jails and Prisons focusing on the “Prison Rape Elimination Act” (PREA).

Adam retired from Law Enforcement in 2015.  He had a growing need to continue serving his community and that is when he was introduced to Lions International.  Adam has been a member of the Reno Cigar Lions Club since becoming a Lion and has held numerous positions within the club to include President.  Adam has been Zone and Region Chairs and became District Governor in 2023/2024. Adam has also served as the GLT, GST, District Disaster Response Chair and the District LCIF Coordinator.  His is currently a member of the Lions of the US (LUSA) Education Committee.  Adam started an E-waste program where members of his club now recycle 10.5 tons of E-waste annually.  Adam contributes monthly to LCIF and is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

Adam has 3 grown children, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  It is safe to say that his second passion is “Nanny”!  All three children have grown into strong, free thinking adults, working hard every day to be the best people they can be.

There is no greater blessing in this world, than a wife or husband who supports their spouse.  Adam and Rachael have been married since 1982 and Rachael (R.N. for over 30 years) has supported Adam in everything he has done.  They created a life together and as Lions, they serve together in the community they have called home for almost 40 years.

Adam is laser focused on making it EASY TO BE A LION!

Adam believes that LIONS are everything good in the world and all we need to do is "FUEL THE GOOD" wherever we find it!

Help him "FUEL THE GOOD" by being elected as an INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR in CA 1.
